The last will and testament of William Mylroie of the parish of KK Lonan who departed this life on or about the 14th of July 1787, being sick at the making thereof but of a perfect, sound, disposing mind and memory, first committing his soul to God his savior as to his worldly good and effects, he disposed of them after this manner following:

He left and bequeathed unto his two children namely Margaret and Ann two guineas a piece

He left and bequeathed to his eldest daughter Margaret aforesaid his part of the house to which his wife Ann Mylroie als Quark consented, also to leave her part of the said house to the aforesaid daughter after her decease who is to give two guineas to her sister Ann at the time she possesses the premises

And lastly he nominated and appointed his loving wife Ann Mylroie als Quark whole and sole executor of all the rest of his worldly goods moveable and immoveable of what kind or nature soever. Ann Mylroie als Quark X

At a Chapter Court holden at Beemaghag November 13th 1787 The executrix is sworn in Court in form of law is also guardian of the children under age. She has also consented to the bequest made her daughter Margaret as more fully expressed in the will. Pledges for payment of debts and legacies are the witnesses of the will.

  1. Buried 10th July 1787, Lonan
  2. Married Ann Quark 27th February 1781; two daughters Margaret (1783) & Anne (1785)
  3. William was the third son of John Mylroie & Margaret Clague, and baptised 1754
  4. He died when he was only 33 years of age
  5. Daughters Ann might have married John Corlett 1807 in Lonan; and Margaret Edmund Clark in 1801
  6. There is frequently confusion between this William Mylroie, b 1754, and his cousin William Mylroie b1746
  7. Lonan parish registers from the early 1700s are far from complete so extreme caution must be exercised when attempting to draw conclusions about these families and their relationships
